Mr. Duus has done a recommendable job of describing what problems face young, educated Hondurans. It is not an easy task to be aware of Honduran reality and continue to maintain pride in one's nation. All throughout Central America, Honduras is looked down upon. Its international reputation is not a good one. The belief if you don't like it here leave is most frequently used. Hondurans will never be acknowledged as an appreciative lot. The fundamental national "dicho," "No se puede perder la oportunidad," is an extremely harmful one. Power is the main issue, whether that be economic, political, physical, or mental.
