I have started putting together a list of all the resorts and hotels in the Bay Islands. Using as a starting reference source "Honduras Tips" Magazine (as well as the webites of the resorts/hotels, if they exist), I will gradually be compiling basic data such as the number of rooms and prices.

This is a work in progress. Thus far, the list and accompanying data are incomplete. I welcome any and all input. If my numbers are off, please feel free to offer some new ones.

Also, I welcome any personal views regarding your stays in one or more of the resorts/hotels. Even if you have second-hand info, that's fine too--particularly about future expansion plans or proposed new resorts/hotels. This will start to paint a picture for me.

I've created a page in the ProjectHonduras website www.holyrosarychurch.org/projecthonduras.htm ) for this project. Just go to the "ProjectsPage" section of the site and press "The Tourism Project".

The list will gradually evolve. When it is complete, I will start analyzing each of the resorts/hotels, based on info provided in websites, published articles, personal interviews, and comments which you provide.

After I have a good feel for each of the resorts/hotels (as well as the market), I will start to assess and forecast the industry as a whole.

When the study is complete (in Microsoft Power Point format), I will make it available for free to anyone who requests it, particularly to people (reporters, editors, etc.) in the position to provide exposure for the Bay Islands' tourism industry.

Suggestions, opinions, critique... I am open to all of it.

Cheers,

Marco
